Emma Nedov
2011 Junior Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist: Beam - 2011
Back in 2004 Emma Jane when she was 10 years old, and was NSW state champion three years running for womans artistic gymnastics. She was training twenty two hours per week until September 2005, when she came down with a virus. She had severe neck pain, headaches, and constant aching muscle. Two weeks after the virus, Emma was still suffering with aching muscles and the headaches.
Two months later, even though Emma was back at school, she no longer could do gymnastics as her muscles were still painfully sore. Any stretching of the spine gave her severe headaches. When she did a handstand the headaches, rating the pain from one to ten ( ten being the worse ), was eight. Four months after the virus, she attempted to go back to the gym from time to time, for twenty minutes. This didn't last very long as she was in too much painFive months after the virus and many visits to different doctors later, Emma's muscles were improving but she was still left with severe headaches. She had quit her dance group and had stopped doing all sports at school. The pain was now a six out of ten. We were advised that Emma would not be back in action for a long time, and all we could do is just wait for her body to heal itself. This was very upsetting to Emma it seemed a very long road to recovery.
A friend had told me about Chris Mortensen and the RitmSCENAR therapy so I decided to give it a go. The day after the first treatment, Emma's headaches were worse (as Chris warned they might be). On doing a handstand they were a seven. The following day they were five. Over the next three weeks that was how the RitmSCENAR therapy worked. The day after the treatment she would be one step worse and the following day, two steps better. I also noticed Emma's general health and wellbeing were beginning to improve.
Four weeks after the first RitmSCENAR treatment, Emma recovered. There were no more headaches or muscle pain and she returned to the gym, gradually building up her hours and was again eager to compete.
It is now 2011 and Emma now has her own RitmSCENAR personal device and uses it constantly. Whenever she is injured we make sure we get down to see Chris for professional RitmSCENAR therapy.
This year Emma won Gold at the Junior Commonwealth Games on the Beam, and Bronze in the teams.
Next - London 2012!
I can assure you RitmSCENAR therapy is and always will be a very large part of Emma's life!
